It adds ML-KEM and ML-DSA in software for hybrid TLS 1.3 and an experimental post-quantum boot check. It requires ESP-IDF v6.0 or later, and Espressif says it is for evaluation only, not production use.

Hat & Hammer's OpenMote, a programmable ESP32-S3 remote in a Wii Remote-style shell, had raised $202,165 from 1,502 backers on Crowd Supply as of Oct 20, 2026, at $99 assembled or $59 PCB-only, with an estimated ship date of Feb 28, 2027.
Waveshare's ESP32-C5-Touch-LCD-3.5 puts an ESP32-C5-WROOM-1U module, a 320x480 IPS touchscreen, an IMU, an RTC, audio and an optional battery and BF3901 camera on one board, listed at US$31.99 to US$35.99 but out of stock as of October 20, 2026.
Meta has released the mostly Apache 2.0 Muse Gadget SDK, which connects ESP32 and Linux devices to its Muse AI agent. Espressif says it is adding Matter controller support, but every gadget needs a Meta-issued SDK token, and 5,000 free ESP32-C5 Home Link adapters are going to US subscribers.
