Editorial Standards
PinoutFeed covers maker hardware for readers who read datasheets. This page sets out how we report, source, and check what we publish — and how we use AI.
Specs come from the maker
Every specification we print — clock speed, core count, RAM and flash, GPIO count, radios, interfaces, power figures, price and availability date — is copied exactly from the maker's own product page or datasheet, and the article says where it came from. When two official sources disagree, we say so rather than pick one silently. We never invent part numbers, pin counts or benchmark figures; performance claims are attributed to whoever made them, with their caveats.
Prices and availability
Prices are stated with their currency and as "at launch" or with a date, because they change. We distinguish clearly between a product that has been announced, one that is on pre-order, a crowdfunding campaign that has not yet delivered, and hardware that is actually shipping.
Sourcing
Every article cites at least three sources, listed openly in a "Sources" section at the foot of the piece. Board, chip, firmware and kit stories cite at least one primary source — the maker's or chip vendor's product page, datasheet or newsroom, the project's official release notes or GitHub release, or the campaign page itself. We do not rewrite a single outlet's story.
News, not wiring guides
We report what was released and what it means. We do not publish instructions for wiring mains-voltage circuits or charging and connecting lithium batteries, or any how-to that could hurt someone. Follow the maker's own documentation and safety guidance when you build.
Fact-checking
Before publication, every article passes a fact-check against its cited sources and an automated review that confirms its sourcing requirements are met and that each cited link resolves to a live page. Anything that cannot be verified is cut. When new information supersedes old reporting, we update.
How we use AI
We are transparent about this: PinoutFeed articles are drafted with AI assistance, working from sources gathered and read for each story. Bylines on this site are AI-assisted desks, and every byline says so. Every article is checked against its cited sources and reviewed by the publisher before release — nothing goes live unreviewed. We do not mass-publish unsourced content.
Our desks
Articles carry a desk byline, each with a defined beat and a published description:
Corrections
A wrong spec is an error, however small. We correct mistakes promptly and log every correction on the corrections page. To report one, email [email protected] with the article and the source that shows the correct figure.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made independently of any advertising, sponsorship or affiliate relationship on this site. If we ever use affiliate links, they will be disclosed on the page, and they never influence what we cover or how. We do not accept payment for coverage.
Not professional advice
PinoutFeed is an independent publication and is not affiliated with any board maker, chip vendor or retailer. Product names are trademarks of their owners. Coverage is for general information; check the maker's current product page before you buy. For questions, corrections, or partnerships, reach us at [email protected].
